| THUNDERBOLTS FINISH OFF RASCALS
Crestwood, IL – The River City Rascals will be glad to see the Windy City Thunderbolts go this season. The Thunderbolts finished the season series 10-2 against the Rascals with a 7-1 win Thursday night at Standard Bank Stadium. The win clinched the Thunderbolts second straight sweep over River City. Toro Trevino got the ball for the Rascals and fell behind in the third inning. For the second straight night, the Thunderbolts with two outs and nobody on, rallied to score their first run as Gilberto Mejia singled, stole and scored on Mike Sullivan’s RBI double to make it 1-0. The Rascals responded with their only run off Thunderbolt starter Alan Quijano in the fifth inning. Will Basom doubled with one out and Luke Barganier drove him in with one of his three hits on the night. With the game tied at one going into the bottom half of the inning, the Thunderbolts wasted no time taking back the lead. Trevino walked Danny Sawyer with one out and then allowed three consecutive hits with Sullivan driving in two on a single. Wes Long would later drive in two more with a single coming with two outs to make it 5-1. Windy City plated their final two in the seventh inning. Mike Coles drove in a run on a sacrifice fly and Long drove home his third RBI with a single. Trevino (2-2) took the loss going six innings, allowing seven runs, six earned on nine hits and three walks. Ramon (5-3) improved to 2-0 against River City going six innings and allowing one run. The Rascals (37-41) now return home to open up a three game set against the Rockford RiverHawks on Friday night with the game time scheduled for 7:05 p.m. from T.R. Hughes Ballpark.
