O'Fallon, MO--The River City Rascals have announced two recent player acquisitions for the 2019 Frontier League season. The team has come to terms with Jason Agresti, a catcher acquired from the Rockland Boulders to complete a previous trade, as well as outfielder Cody Livesay, who has spent the last four seasons with the Gateway Grizzlies.
Agresti, 22, was a four-year starter at Binghamton University. His 50 doubles are the second-most in program history. The Yorktown Heights, NY native played his first professional season in 2018, appearing in 36 games for the Boulders and totaling 20 hits, with 14 RBIs.
Livesay is a familiar face for Rascals fans, as the 25-year old has played with the crosstown-rival Grizzlies since 2015. He hit .262 with 23 RBIs in 2018, registering 79 hits in 90 games. He hit .306 during the 2015 season. The Jonesboro, IL native was a 42nd round pick of the Atlanta Braves in 2011, and spent three seasons in the team's farm system, reaching as high as the (A) Rome Braves of the South Atlantic League.
The defending West Division champion Rascals begin the 2019 campaign against the Washington Wild Things on May 9th at CarShield Field. Tickets are available for the 2019 season at rivercityrascals.com, or by calling the box office at 636-240-2287.
